So I really loved being able to a character who looked at the world through more hopeful eyes. GC: Around the time that I was cast, because of all of the things happening in the world, I too felt quite jaded and cynical about things sometimes. I think that’s part of what he loves about her. I think that’s part of why Ikaris is so drawn to Sersi, the beauty she sees in the world that he sometimes doesn’t. That was a really fascinating concept for me as an actor get in the headspace of someone who’s lived 1,000 lives, seen and done everything and yet still tries to find some sort of joy and purpose in every day.
RM: It’s the concept of someone who’s 5,000 years old. What drew you to Sersi and Ikaris in particular? The new Marvel epic’s second bonus scene unites a man and his blade(s). Movies What is up with that second credits scene in ‘Eternals’? And whose voice was that?
